Ronald C. Savin, M.D. is a Board-Certified Dermatologist who has been offering full service dermatology and dermatologic surgery services to patients for over 38 years. A graduate of Yale University and the University of Florida School of Medicine, he maintains a private practice in New Haven, CT as Savin Dermatology Center , P.C.  Dr. Savin has a personal interest in conducting clinical research in dermatology. In addition to his regular practice, he has been a clinical investigator since 1962 (initially at Yale) and ahs extensive experience in carrying out Phase II and Phase III clinical investigations of systemic and topical agents for a variety of sponsors. Over the years, SDC has completed several hundred pharmaceutical studies mostly for FDA approval purposes.
These clinical research studies have involved new dermatologic investigative drugs, existing drugs, OTC medicinal products, consumer skin care and cosmetic products. He has also done marketing and marketing claim substantiation studies. Recent projects include basic evaluations of new cortisone creams, antifungal agents, antipsoriatic agents as well as hair-growing and anti-wrinkle formulations. He ahs also developed an objective visual measure (scale) of hair loss to facilitate hair loss research. Dr. Savin is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Yale University Medical School and is an Attending Physician at both Yale-New Haven Hospital and Hospital of St. Raphael . He frequently acts as an advisor to the Connecticut State medical Society, and is an active oriented dermatology articles and a frequent speaker, he has been quoted in a variety of publications and feature stories.
 Lisa M. Donofrio MD is a graduate of Tulane Medical School where she also did her residency in Dermatology. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Tulane where she also served as Chief Resident in dermatology. Dr. Donofrio trained with renowned instructors in the fields of Dermatologic and Cosmetic Surgery, and was recipient of the Peterkin Award for excellence in research. During her tenure she also performed with Tulane Summer Lyric Theatre and New Orleans Opera. She graduated Suma Cum Laude from Quinnipiac University . She also saing with Connecticut Light Opera Chorus and performed at many local theaters including, Albertus Summer theatre and Downtown Cabaret theatre in Bridgeport.
She has conducted cancer research at Yale Medical School in the departments of Pathology and Therapeutic Radiology. She has publications on Structural fat transfer, liposuction and surgical technique. She has lectured on fat transfer and liposuction at the annual meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the International Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the Annual International symposium on Aging Skin, the American Society of Liposuction Surgery World Congress and is an invited speaker at many international surgery meetings. She is in private practice at The Savin Center for Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery in New Haven, CT and the Laser and Skin Surgery Center in New York City . She is an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Yale University School of Medicine and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Tulane University School of Medicine. Dr. Donofrio is board certified in Dermatology and is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society of Liposuction Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Donofrio lives in Connecticut with her husband, Brian Valzania, the owner and operator of an art gallery. They are avid yoga practitioners and have recently developed aliveyoga.com; an audio based internet yoga site which records yoga studios across the country and posts their classes as MP3 downloads. They live in Connecticut with their two dogs and two cats.  Gregory Rau, PA-C is a certified, licensed Physician Assistant who joined the Savin Center in September 2002.He is a graduate of the University of Hartford with a BA in Biology ((Magna Cum Laude) and a MHS, Physician Assistant from Quinnipiac University. His responsibilities include the practice of general dermatology as well as supporting the clinical research unit in the capacity of performing various procedures such as phlebotomy, physical examinations, and performing biopsies.
