We all know the importance of wearing sunscreen in the summer months, but what about during the fall and winter? Believe it or not, it is just as important to wear sunscreen during the cooler months as it is during the summer. No matter what time of year it is, the sun still produces harmful UV rays that can damage and age our skin.
While we may not spend as much time outdoors in the fall and winter as we do in the summer, we must keep in mind that our skin is still being exposed to UV rays. In fact, the sun’s rays can be even stronger when reflected off the snow.
At The Savin Center, we recommend wearing a daily facial moisturizer that contains at least SPF 30. Daily SPF protection is essential because when driving or sitting by a window, our skin can be exposed to harmful UV rays – even on cloudy days.
When spending hours outdoors hiking, snowboarding, skiing, or shoveling, a stronger SPF is recommended for greater protection. The Savin Center carries sunscreens including SkinCeutials® Physical Fusion SPF 50 that can be purchased in our office or online.
